This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. Occupational titles may include tiler and wall & floor tiler. The taker of this will eventually be able to lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes.
This profession in the construction industry is highly sought-after in Australia and is included in the list of professions that can be sponsored and may even lead to a migration path.
The course provides hands on-training from industry experienced teachers and practical experience on full scale projects. It will also include more complicated tiling work such as mosaics, pools and spas.
Course Duration: 1 year full-time
Eligibility: Good passes at Year 11 level or overseas equivalent.
English Requirement: IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no individual band score less than 5.5.
Fees: AUD$15,000 to AUD$20,000 (varying from provider to provider)
This course may lead to employment in the construction industry. Again, an opportunity to gain relevant local work experience may even lead to PR.
