The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement is an integrity measure to ensure that the Student Visa Program is used as intended and not used by the international students as a way to get de facto permanent residency in Australia. To address the GTE criteria, it is very crucial to maintain your Australian student visa; and a professional counsellor is the one who knows the pitfalls and can guide you towards taking the right decision for career and life in Australia. Here are some of the key recommendations we give to students applying for student visa/extension are:
  • Ensure you are meeting your school’s attendance criteria at all times.
  • Make sure you are focussing on the course and getting acceptable grades every semester. If you repeatedly abandon the courses you are enrolled in, DIBP has good reason to believe that you are doing so to stay in Australia rather than for genuine purpose of academics.
  • Be very mindful when switching courses. Don’t switch to a course because it’s cheaper or your friends are studying it. You can be under scrutiny if DIBP feels the course choices you are making may not be relevant to your past course(s) or proposed future employment.
  • Do not work for hours more than what your student visa allows you to.

COE

Enrolment in the course & managing visa application

Once you are clear on your choices and have decided to take the next step towards enrolment, we guide you through all the paperwork needed and manage every step of the enrolment process. This step includes:
  • Guiding on all paperwork for visa and application process including certified copies of academic transcripts, diplomas/certificates, etc.
  • Completing all application forms and other paperwork.
  • Liaising with selected institution on your behalf and getting your letter of offer and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
  • Filing for your new student visa and/or extension.
