Reasons To Study In Europe

About Europe

Europe is yet another choice of many international students. Primarily, there are four countries where students may choose to study in Europe. These are:

  • France
  • Germany
  • Cyprus
  • Switzerland

Each country has its own set of prospects, but all of them offer great education at nearly same price. All these European countries have nearly similar set of rules and requirements for international students. Let’s know a bit more!

Education System in Europe

The educational institutes in Europe are broadly categorized as:

  • The Public University
  • The Grandes Ecoles

There are nearly 90 public universities and about 300+ Grandes Ecoles in Europe. Getting admission in Grandes Ecoles is tougher and costlier as compared to any public university in Europe.

Intakes

January-February and September-October are the months when most of the universities are open for admission in Europe.

Cost Involved

Cost of Studying

Cost of studying and living in Europe is lesser when compared to other countries like U.S.A. or even Canada (in some areas). However, it largely depends on the program & provider you choose and the area you live in. Here are the average fee structures of different programs in Europe.

Average tuition fees for Bachelor’s degree:

  • 4,500 EUR/year for European Students
  • 8,600 EUR/year for international students

Average tuition fees for Master’s degree:

  • 5,100 EUR/year for European students
  • 10,170 EUR/year for international students

Cost of Living

Living expenses depend entirely on the country you live in.

In fact, in the U.K., the British Council estimates that students need around £600 per month to live on, which covers food accommodation, clothes and other expenses.

This differs to other countries; for instance, one year’s student living in the U.K. costs four times what an equivalent student will pay in Germany!

English Language Proficiency

European countries offer the most exceptional and efficient education system, and this is the reason that thousands of students choose Europe each year. Here’s the eligibility criteria:

  • International students may apply with/without IELTS/PTE/TOEFL.
  • Students pursuing an undergraduate degree are required to complete their secondary education. The student is required to pass if the university has any specific entrance test.
  • Students pursuing a Master’s degree should have an equivalent bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  • Students pursuing Ph.D. need to have an equivalent Masters or diploma.

Employment Opportunities

In Europe, unlike India, the companies do not visit the college campus but the students must proactively participate in finding the right job for themselves.

To ease out the process, the colleges provide the students a chance to interact with various recruiters to know what they are looking for. There is no dearth of opportunities in Europe. Once the student is done with his/her academics, the professional career will follow soon.
