Funds Transfer Scheme
- This is an optional scheme that can be used by students who do not have maintained funds for 6 months.
- In this, the student has to make $15,000 secure investment deposit with ANZ Bank in New Zealand.
- Student can withdraw $1,250 (plus interest) every month for a 12-month period from this deposit.
- These funds can be used to pay for living expenses while in New Zealand. Full investment of $15,000 is returned/refunded at the end of 12 months.
Student Work Rights
Here’s some important information on during and post-study work rights for students.
During Session/Holidays
- Students are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week in session and unlimited hours during holidays.
- No limit on working hours for dependent family members
- No limit on working hours if enrolled for postgraduate diploma or higher-level course.
Post-Study Work Visa
- Open – This visa gives up to 12 months to get a job in a field related to studies. Student may work in any job to support themselves while looking for relevant job.
- Employer-Assisted– This visa lets the student stay in New Zealand to gain work experience for a further two years (or three years if work experience is required as part of a professional registration). This visa relates to a specific job with a specific employer.
