The reason for the development of this course is to provide a solution to the limited number of skilled professionals in Australia and increase the number of employable international students by increasing their expertise and skill set and giving them the opportunity to obtain field training.

This course has been formulated by certified governmental institutes (for accounting pundits - the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, CPA Australia, and the Institute of Public Accountants) to assure that the needs of the employers while selecting a candidate are met. The course consists of a 44 week training period which is inclusive of 14 days of internship experience in the industry.

And the best part about this is that upon completion of this course, the students get to score 5 points to get Permanent Residency in Australia.

Because of Increased demand for Accounting graduates and as with other sectors of accountancy, these occupations are listed consistently in the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and Combined List of Eligible Skilled Occupations. Sample of which are Accountant (General), Management Accountant, Taxation Accountant, External Auditor, Financial Investment Manager. As most visa types, an assessment procedure by a recognised authority is required as part of the visa application for work sponsorship or for migration purpose such as Permanent Residency.

It increases the employability of graduate international students.  Professional Year Program is aimed to develop the professional skills needed to excel in chosen career in Australia.
